The RV Radio Net Fall Rally will be held at Swan Bay Resort near Alexandria Bay , NY September 7th thru September 10th. 2017

Thursday Sept 7th, is arrival day, meeting and greeting and checking out the area. Alex Bay is about 5 miles north on State Route 12, with restaurants galore and river walks and River Hospital, Plus a plethora of gift shops lining Main Street. Alex Bay is also the home of Uncle Sam Boat Tours. A highly recommended two or three hour tour aboard a paddle wheel double deck boat with a stop at Boldt Castle, another recommended visit. The operators of Uncle Sam Boat Tours runs a shuttle to Swan Bay Resort for anyone taking a tour. Alex Bay is also the home of Thousand Island Winery providing FREE wine tasting and winery tours.

Friday is a “free” day. Another Day to meet at the fire pit in the middle of rally circle or explore the area. Clayton, NY, about 9 miles South on Rt. 12 is the home of The Wood Boat Museum, with restored wood boats from another era. Plus another chance to shop till you drop. Almost across the street from the Wood Boat Museum is the Wood Boat Brewery. A chance to sample some of the best locally brewed beer in the area and “do lunch”. Friday may be a good day for a boat tour and/or a visit to Boldt Castle.

Swan Bay Resort is on the St Lawrence River and the St Lawrence Seaway, so it is not uncommon to see ocean going ships passing by. Saturday morning there will be a pancake and sausage breakfast with real New Work State Maple syrup. Supper Saturday afternoon will be a biscuit and gravy dinner prepared by guess who. Then perhaps a meeting conducted by Pat.

There are churches of several denominations in the area. Sunday is also parting time. For those who wish to come early or stay longer, the same rates apply.

Most people when they think of “New York”, think of New York City which is about 450 miles from Alex Bay. This is rural country, very laid back with friendly folks. You may fall in love with Northern NY and want to extend your stay to visit many attractions in the Adirondack mountains, like Lake Placid, the home of the 1932 and 2001 winter olympics.

The “TI” bridge to Canada is a quarter south for those with passports wishing to visit Canada Directions: Travel North on Interstate I 81to exit 50N, State Rt. 12. Go north on Rt. 12 for about a quarter mile, Swan Bay is on your left, next to Tops Market plaza. Look for the swan towing a travel trailer.

We look forward to seeing all of you in the Thousand Islands this September, believe me you will not be disappointed you made the trip.

More information will be forthcoming shortly.
